WHERE I LIVE...

Have you ever looked into those eyes of your child asking for a chocolate…Or ever peeped into his classroom to get a glance of true innocence…Ever tried playing their favourite game with them to see them beaming when they win…And the very next moment you see them torn into bits and pieces right in front of your eyes and have to bury them with your own hands…Yes, in recent times people have become so scared about their lives that they find it almost impossible to feel safe and sound. Be it a blast or kidnapping or an accident, there is a major destruction of life in every case. Riots, revenges, blasts, burning down trains, kidnapping, rapes, and theft are now here to stay. This has been going on in the country for quite some time and looks like people these days are getting "used" to it by now.

In the past few years people have been experiencing so much pain and have been suffering so much that they have lost that courage in them to face any situation. Many bomb blasts took place in Gujarat, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Haridwar and some parts of the world like Iran, Iraq and Kashmir have got accustomed to them by now. They already have done a lot of damage to life and managed to disrupt the harmony and in no time we witness another series of bomb blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad causing chaos and enormous loss of lives and property. We see people running around to find their dear ones and calling for help. Loss of hope, loss of happiness, loss of their loved ones and loss of a desire to live is what is left aftermath. Burdened life with depressed thoughts creep over and it gets really tough to overcome it.

There is no peace in the world today because there is no more peace left in human beings and in their minds. Who do we blame for this? What do we do about it? When is the world going to be a happy place again? None of us have an answer for this. This was not the place where I once lived…this was not the place where I once played…this has become the place where I don’t want to live…

How Happy Are You?

Somebody once said if you want to stay happy for a short time get drunk, then nobody contradicted. Again when somebody said if you want to stay happy for a long time also get drunk, then everybody contradicted. When somebody asked what do u do to stay happy forever? Then nobody could answer, because happiness is one such term which cannot be measured or defined. The dictionary says happiness is showing pleasure or feeling fortunate. But does being happy mean having all what one needs in life? Or having freedom to do something one wants to do? Or does it lie in helping people around you and making them happy?. Well...... none of the above question can give the essence of happiness, because happiness always lies in oneself. Happiness can be very well defined as a simple harmony between a man and his life. It always depends on the person. It depends on the quality of his thoughts, his actions, his nature, his character and his words. If he is happy with himself then he can be assured of making at least one person happy around him. Happiness comes when your work and words are of benefit to yourself and to others.

There have been various opinions and teachings to deliver the meaning of happiness. The Hindu dharma says happiness to a man is having a proper “grihasti” which means living with a loving wife and obedient children. According to Buddhist teachings and the eightfold path happiness is that which will lead it’s practitioners to “Nirvana” a state of everlasting peace. They also explain that happiness can be achieved by overcoming desire in all forms. Christianity says happiness is a never-ending relationship with god. They believe that it is due to god that one is able to be happy and content. Whereas, psychologists have a different say. They believe that happiness is positivity in everything. Taking into consideration all the above references we can definitely make an inference that happiness is a balance between a person and his life.

Aristotle, the great philosopher quoted that “action may not always bring happiness. But, there is no happiness without action.” Therefore, the grand essentials of happiness are: something to do; something to love; and something to hope for. As it has been said and believed that a person should always do his duty and leave it to god, similarly if a person pretends to be happy he can never be happy. Take life as it comes to you and do your best. One will definitely lead a happy life. Don’t search for the meaning of life. Just live!!!!!! Because there is only one way which can lead happiness in life i.e. to love and be loved.....................

Living Life actually

Dreams, desires, aspirations, goals, ambitions...many more seem to extend the list when one thinks about life..but is this what life is all about? Is it just a reciprocal relationship amongst the group which you live with? Love, warmth, hope and happiness have allmost vanished from people's heart. I always grew up knowing that life changes every minute. You get to experience a zillion different moments every second. Do you know it could actually turn your imagination go wild and mysterious. But, life in the contemporary situation has lost all it's essence. It is no more about the quality life. People live life only to fulfill their needs, wherein materialistic needs dominate in every sphere of life. I strongly believe that our life depends on the quality of our thoughts. Life is not measured by the number of times we breathe, but by the number of moments that take our breath away. May be all of us experience the former more. Far in the sunshine are my highest desires and aspirations. I may not be able to fulfill all of them. I can always look up at the beauty, admire them and believe in them. Life isn't what you want it to be, it's what you make it become. Live all you can - it's a mistake not to. It doesn't matter much as to what you do in particular, as long as you have a life. If you haven't had that, what have you had?
